Botanical plate of plants and their roots poster, “DEEP ROOTS”

Here, the hidden part of the plants matters as much as their flowers. This botanical plate brings together several species drawn in full, with their stems, leaves, flowers and, spread out below, their branching root systems. It brings to mind a scholarly herbarium where everything has been dug up for closer study. The line is precise, the foliage a soft green and the roots take on earthy tones. The title “DEEP ROOTS” highlights this attention to what grows deep down, in a calm, naturalist vertical composition.

A roots plate for the home office or library

Its vertical format and its earth and soft green tones suit a home office, a library, a bedroom or a sunroom. It pairs with dark wood, leather, bookshelves and stoneware pots. Hung next to other naturalist plates, it gives the feel of a study cabinet. Give it to a gardener, a student of natural sciences or agronomy, or a loved one settling into a new home who wants a simple, nature-related image. The title also makes it a nod to someone attached to their roots.
