about this poster

Woman at a washboard in a sunny courtyard poster

In a tub of soapy water, a woman scrubs laundry on a wooden washboard. Behind her, a laundry basket and a stretched clothesline sit in a sunny courtyard. The title “SCRUB A DUB” accompanies this hand-washing poster, full of life and good cheer. This everyday scene celebrates simple gestures, with bright light and cheerful colors, in a vertical format that puts the laundress front and center.

A laundry scene for the laundry room

Vertical in format, it hangs above a washing machine, in a laundry room, a bathroom, a pantry or a kitchen. Its sunny tones pair well with white, wood, wicker, zinc and wooden clothespins. In a laundromat, it adds a smiling note. It can be combined with other posters on domestic life or laundry themes. It makes a fun gift for a housewarming party, a friend who loves old-fashioned ways, or anyone setting up a laundry room.

Your questions

What does “SCRUB A DUB” mean?

Where should I hang this laundry poster?

It fits in a laundry room, above the washing machine, or in a bathroom. It also suits a pantry or a laundromat.

Choosing the size and the spot

Measure the space available on your wall, allowing for the frame you want to use. Then compare the sizes offered on this page and check the orientation of the artwork.

For a set of several posters, also plan the gaps between the frames. Keep your decor away from water splashes and heat sources.
